Should we wait till Jan. 20, 2009?
Mon May 26, 2008 at 10:57:16 PM PDT
Greyhawk posted an excellent diary asking; what if they don't leave? It's an excellent question, though I believe that they will. I think the more important question is; what will they leave? Can they do something so horrendous that they virtually assure their visions of permanent war?
Let's go down below for a frank discussion.
Do Not Miss this Video
Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 07:54:45 AM PDT
I was sent an email for a new CD from Joel Rafael. This is the first time I've ever heard of this singer/songwriter and am not trying to send out an advertisement for his work. But, the email had a link to a pre-order site, which had a link to this video of his song "This is my country". I took a listen and just new I had to post this in a diary.
We need to demand the media cover Rev. Moon.

I know the rules concerning diaries. I also know that this diary will be too short to be called a diary. It should be in comments. The thing is, I did post it as a comment but feel the subject is way to important to be left there.
In case anyone missed it, DarkSyde posted an excellent diary about the Rev. Moon, yesterday. It really opened my eyes.
BREAKING: Hillary won Nevada
Sat Jan 19, 2008 at 01:41:06 PM PDT
I'm an Obama man but, when the precinct captain called in our numbers, they told her that Hillary has won. I was the only one who voted for Kucinich, in my precinct, and Obama for my 2nd choice. Oh, well. It was pretty much as I expected it would go.
I did get to volunteer as an alternate delegate, though, and I'm a super guy. Therefore, I should be a super delegate.
Mission Nearly Successful.
Mon Jan 14, 2008 at 08:14:48 PM PDT
Our MSM has nearly succeeded in another of their fun missions. From behind serious veneers they've turned the fairy tale race issue into a reality. LBJ had nothing to do with this dreamed-up fight, but HRC did. By outragiously claiming that it was Obama drumming up the race card from her husband's remarks was like handing the MSM extra-hold hairspray and a lighter.
They're all good so let's consider a strategic vote.
Fri Dec 14, 2007 at 09:18:45 PM PDT
We've all heard me talk about Kucinich and how he deserves our vote. While that's true (for I only speak truth) many have pointed out that Dennis is damn near unelectable. While this is also true (sometimes truth is hurtled back at me like a box of rocks) it's also quite annoying. Still, truth goes marching on and that's led me too consider him a strategic vote. I can hear you asking me, "What the Hell are you yapping about?" Well, I'm yapping about the fact that this is a win-win-win situation.
Every Democratic candidate will make a fine President. HRC will also make a fine tuna casserole, if you ask her, and Elizabeth Edwards makes a fine Geogia Peach #2 whether you ask her for one or not. But my point is not about peaches. It's about impeaching. It's also about advancing the Progressive agenda.
Is Congress being blackmailed by W.H.?
Tue Oct 23, 2007 at 08:39:25 PM PDT
Is it spinelessness, political caution (to get Ind. voters in 2008), financial profiteering from Mil/Ind Complex investments, lack of conviction, or simply not being good at stopping Rethug's from blocking legislation that makes our Congress ineffectual? Or is there another, more nefarious, reason for their inability to stand up to White House?
Edward's should make a final lunge for effect.
Thu Oct 18, 2007 at 06:55:53 AM PDT
The candidacy of John Edwards is nearing its end. Short of money, and perpetually 3rd in polls, Iowa is his last hope. I think he should go out with a revolutionary statement that might, actually, propel him to the top of those polls. We wont know until someone tries this.
PRIORITIES (a blatant Colbert ripoff).
Wed Aug 29, 2007 at 06:01:44 PM PDT
Today's word is PRIORITIES.
Shrub is getting ready to declare Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.
Our Congress, the greatest crime fighting organization known to man, can't catch an idiot D.A. (to show him who's boss) before the idiot announces he'll be on his own way.
A debateably gay Senator is haunded to resign for committing a crime roughly equal to speeding.
And to top it all off, nobody knows whether to permanently suspend a football player after he's performed inhuman acts of cruelty on dogs.
I hate to be a downer but...

FISA's death knoll is the final nail in our nations coffin. A coffin they're trying desperately to keep us from seeing (like over 3,600 others before it). Such laws, allowed to go into effect by our Congressional leadership without so much as a fillibuster, are now part of every future President's authority. They will never be taken away.
Get Out To a Live Earth Event.
Thu Jul 05, 2007 at 10:00:00 PM PDT
Everyone knows that Global Warming is the defining issue of our species. Not just our generation. For the first time in history we have advanced knowledge of a catastrophic event and the power too attempt stopping it. This is an incredible moment. I urge everyone not to miss it.
Goodbye to the 4th of July
Sat Jun 30, 2007 at 09:37:43 PM PDT
This Independence Day is a very sad one, for me. Many people wont like what I have to say but I have to say it. Put my feelings out there for anyone who shares them. From previous experience I doubt many will read, or respond, but here I go.
I wont be celebrating the Fourth of July, anymore.
Tell Pelosi it's time to stop Dicking around.

Best if not used by Nov., 2008.

The VT shootings have brought back the ever unpopular issue of gun control. For those of you who didn't notice, the Dem's have thrown in the towel on this issue. Even John Kerry donned a camy hat, and snappy vest, for a quick bout of "shoot the Quayle". Unfortunatly, he was 16 years to late. But, that's not my point. What is my point? Follow me down here.
My application for War Czar.
Thu Apr 12, 2007 at 07:49:08 AM PDT
Our President, the ultimate slacker, is no longer interested in being seen as Commander-In-Chief. It's a hard job and, it turns out, Shrub doesn't like work. So, in the spirit of Global Marketplacing, he's outsourcing his own job and looking for a War Czar. He's decided (an act described in his official job functions) that it's time for someone else to fuck up. The job requirements are these:
- Balls of Plutonium (but you shouldn't be Iran).
- Must be willing, and able, to raise color of Green Zone to orange, or red. Ridge used to know how to do that but he left in a snit and took the code with him.
- Must be able to get a good price on rugs.
- Should be good enough with a rifle to shoot an old man in the face.
I, Mr. President, am just such a man. It's with great hope of being appointed that I offer my application and a stiff salute (war gives me a hard-on).
Changing climate by 2050 is to late. Act now.
Wed Mar 21, 2007 at 09:44:02 AM PDT
Most plans being pushed by business, and even some powerful Environmntal groups, do not adequately address Global Warming. Much is being written about this subject but I thought I would add my 2 cents because I am far more brilliant than those others (ha ha). These are some things you should know about the movement and the candidates for POTUS. Let's go down, under the fold, so I can tell you about them.
A musical interlude.
Tue Mar 06, 2007 at 07:26:47 PM PDT
I thought it might be nice to take a break from all the happy news, dangerous games, and general trash talk. Being a liberal, however, I can't get to far away from such things. What could possibly unite those important concepts with delight and fun? Rock 'N Roll, baby. The stuff that moved a generation.
I, therefore, comprised my top 10 Rock songs of all time. In order of greatness, even. You may ask how I determined these to be the all time best. Well, to quote Don Henley (in The Garden Of Allah), "I am an expert. Because I say I am."
If it's good enough for Satan...
Seymour Hersh article a must read
Tue Feb 27, 2007 at 03:53:49 PM PDT
In this issue of The New Yorker, posted 02-25-2007, is an article by Seymour Hersh that must be read by everyone. It's 5 pages long so, if that's a bit much, you can hear an interview with him on NPR's Fresh Air, 02-27-2007, with Terri Gross.
