Florida: Devastation on the Day After

I was proud to hear that Obama had taken a stand yesterday with Senator Dodd against telco immunity, and his courage almost swung my vote, but at the last I raised my pen to support John Edwards in yesterday's Florida primary. In the end it as John Edwards who had spoken to the issues that I cared about most, intellectually and in my heart. But most of my fellow Kossacks and various other assembled kossians still cannot understand how the primary was the smaller of the two issues in Florida yesterday

At this point, it is obvious that Bush does not care about his poll numbers or the will of the American People, as he is bunkered down, unwilling to let go of his nightmares of the Permanent Republican Reich. The following is from a Robert Novak Column*:
Iraq - After passing two bills that President Bush deemed unacceptable, Democrats have blinked** in the fight over funds for the Iraq War.
*Robert Novak is a Naturally Sycophanted Fifth Columnist and a Faux News Phallitical Analcyst.
**Blinked - Bent over double and spread their ass cheeks, but only for now...they plan to be "in control" by later this year.

Are We Independent Yet?

With the recognition of our 230th American Independence Day tomorrow, maybe some folks would like to think about what it really means to be an Independent American. Perhaps we can make some conjectures about what the finest of our "Founding Fathers" dreamed of when, with the help of the common people who fought and died in the Revolution, they threw off the British yoke and forged the path that we have come to call the "American Way".
