This is my first diary, but I am not expecting people to be kind or charitable, because I begin with an iconoclastic view of the Democratic Party, a perhaps unpopular view but a view that needs to be presented as clearly as I can present it.

I've always considered myself a progressive antiwar Democrat ever since I worked on the Presidential campaign of George McGovern. I am a longtime subscriber to The Nation. I know all the wobbly wonks of the "issues" of the day. But the reign of George W. Bush, the Chimp-in-Chief, the Emperor with No Clothes, has absolutely radicalized me.
