As Glenn Greenwald has observed, the Bush Administration is stepping up the threatening rhetoric toward Iran.  This morning we also heard that our troops have stormed an Iranian consulate in Iraq.

Suddenly yesterday, after the 9-12am airing of the Stephanie Miller Show (guest hoster by Elaine Boosler), Boston's progressive radio station switched to a Latin music format.  1200 (and 1430) AM Boston is now calling itself, "Rumba 1200 Orgullo Latino."  

Conservatives who oppose gay marriages often use the slippery slope argument, as in "the next thing you know men will be marrying dogs."

Until now I hadn't realized that there is indeed a slope.  The slope will not lead to the perversions that scare-mongers on the right like to rant and rave about.  Rather it will lead to a coerced morality (or what the right conceives of as morality but is more accurately described as faith).
