Andy Martin - The man who started "Obama's a secret Muslim"
Sat Jun 28, 2008 at 08:16:48 AM PDT
Running through the morning news pages, seeing if there was anything that happened in the 9 hours I slept (I'm addicted, I know) I saw a little piece on HuffPo that points out this:
The man Allen found who takes credit for the first posting of an article falsely asserting Obama is a Muslim is a man named Andy Martin.

[ACTION] I need some help dispelling Anti-Obama "facts"
Mon Jun 16, 2008 at 02:14:56 PM PDT
Hey everyone.
So we are all aware of the "bitter" comment making the rounds.
We are also aware the NRA always backs the Republican candidate and attacks the Democrat.
Today I found a link to an Obama "fact sheet" put together by the NRA with the intention of scaring people into believing Obama is going to "take our guns!"
Can I get a little help looking into these votes so I can rebut with solid information?

Our nation, and our world is quickly moving toward crisis. Oil prices continue to grow, mountaintops in Appalachia are being bulldozed, and the environment is reeling. To combat this coming crisis, many are exploring the alternatives to the fossil fuels that currently power the planet.
In my short time as a member of DailyKos I’ve (happily) seen many stories and comments discussing the new and exciting technology emerging in the field of alternative energy. As an engineer by trade, and as someone who has been following these topics for years, it elates me to see others interested and working to advance an alternative energy agenda. In keeping with my belief that discussion and debate are always good things, I wanted to contribute.
It is in this vein that I set out to write this "State of Alternative Energy" series.
I intend to cover several alternative energy technologies, where they stand in development, where they are going, and how they may impact our world. In this second article, I’d like to talk about the quiet energy monster that's been building steam for literally hundreds of years.

Obama's Fundraiser in Orlando (PHOTOS)
Sat May 24, 2008 at 09:21:38 AM PDT
Hey there everyone. I've been toiling over the 110 pictures I took at Sen. Obama's fund raiser in Orlando this past Wednesday evening, and finally picked out the ones I thought were good enough to share.
I'm a bit picky with my photos, so I'll probably get around to posting more of the 40 or so that I think are alright...but for now I've got a dozen up on my Flickr page.

Obama in Florida...
Thu May 08, 2008 at 07:08:45 PM PDT
This will be short...since I should have been in bed already. I hate being a yuppie sometimes!
Sen. Obama, in another sign he is moving from Primary mode to General mode is having a fundraiser in Florida on May 21st.
Guess what type of Chicken Madness may be in attendance? Let's see below the fold!

Stephanopoulos-McCain Interview Leaked (bravenewfilms)
Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 05:42:01 PM PDT
Given the vomit inducing debate, and the Front Page story about what questions we would enjoy seeing Sen. McCain answer, I thought everyone might like to see this.
Is this a "rope-a-dope" or a "bait-n-switch"? [w/ poll]
Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 03:43:55 PM PDT
So I need a little help here. I'm having a hard time figuring out which strategy this is, which is being employed by the Republicans. I mean, I know the tactic, and I know it's working. I also know it's a great way for them to win the White House in the fall...but for the life of me I can't figure out the correct term with which to call it.
Dinner with Barack Obama!
Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 02:37:08 PM PDT
So I just got an email from the Obama campaign. It appears they are having a contest, where anyone and everyone who donates between now and March 31st is entered to win a dinner with Sen. Obama.
Four people will be chosen, flown out for free, free dinner (food's on Obama!) and just sit around and talk.
I'm probably going to do it...but no matter who wins, I'll pay you $100 to talk space policy for me! :P
HELP: All hands to keyboards!

This primary season has been insane. We all know this. What has been even more aggrivating than the unbelievable spin we have been seeing, is the fact that the MSM has utterly refused to call people on it. How, as a professional journalist, can you let people get away with saying one thing then completely change your story, depending on the state your in? I just don't get it. Hold people accountable for heaven's sake.
So about a week ago I had an idea, and while I normally leave my bias towards my particular candidate (Sen. Obama) in random comments on dkos and not in diaries...this idea stood out. After some coaxing from a friend of mine, I decided to try to make it a reality.
The thing is, I'm going to need some help...
Pelosi steps in on campaigns...
Fri Mar 07, 2008 at 04:24:50 PM PDT
The NY Times is running a story that Speaker Pelosi has had a conference with the campaigns and has now pressured them to "simmer down"...
This will be short. Since if I start talking about this shear idiocy of this only happening now then I will start off into some massive rant. Which is why I'm writing this diary in the first place, because I'm so fed up if I don't use up my diary tonight now there will be a SUPER long one later after I start drinking. So you get this.
The Corruption Debate (Siegelman as VP)
Sat Mar 01, 2008 at 01:06:16 PM PDT
[note: First Diary!]
So I think we all understand how this year's general election will go down. If Sen. Obama wins the nomination, the Republican machine will continue the path that Sen. Clinton has teed up in the primary, which is to claim he cannot handle National Security because of his lack of experience. Swiftboat style ads from no-name groups talking about his ties to Muslims, race baiting, and overall nastiness. Now, Sen. Obama's campaign has done a fantastic job so far combating this sort of attack. However, I think a better choice is out there for the GE.
Change the debate. Don't get into a stupid back and forth with Sen. McCain about National Security. Make this election about Republican corruption. What's is the absolutely best way to do that? Put Don Siegelman on the ticket as VP...
