Tax Day Got You Down? Blame Single Parents...

Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 03:25:24 PM PDT

Or better yet... blame me! I was born a tax burden, and you can't even claim me as a deductible!

I was born to an unwed mother... a widowed, immigrant mother of two to be exact. Even if it comes twenty-something years late, we, along with hundreds of thousands of families like us, should have apologized for creating unnecessary burdens on the rest of society.

Subliminal Racialiousness at Time Magazine? (With UPDATE)

Sat Jan 26, 2008 at 11:08:59 PM PDT

When I saw the new Times Magazine headline, I did a quadruple take at it...because certainly there was no way that this would move forward as the headline for Time magazine's coverage of Obama's win:

Obama's Rout Rejiggers the Race:

To quote Jay-Z: J*gga What?

Resignation News: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Fri May 18, 2007 at 12:54:08 AM PDT

The Good:

Paul Wolfowitz resigned from the World Bank, effective June 30th... 'Nuff said.

The Bad:

Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty officially blamed his children's college finances for his resignation. Hmm... worse cover-up EVER!

The Ugly:

Sadly, Alberto Gonzalez is still Attorney General. Well... Congress may have a full plate, but as the NY Times pointed out, he's impeacheable, you know!

Faith and Politics: From Romney to Obama...

Wed May 16, 2007 at 10:44:54 AM PDT

In an ironic twist of fate, Al Sharpton is taking a ride on his own apology tour for his comments regarding Mormonism and Mitt Romney during a debate on "Is God Great?"

I guess his critics ignored Chrisopher Hitchens, whose new book asserts "God Is Not Great" and "Religion Poisons Everything."

So if you criticize part of a religious practice... conservatives can call it bigotry... but if you criticize all religions... they give you a free pass?

Thu May 03, 2007 at 10:35:06 PM PDT

From Iraq to Katrina to Iraq again--and every other issue in between--the Bush Presidency has been marred by a series of shameful, incompetent, and dangerous policy decisions. If his last veto on the Iraqi spending bill weren't enough, Bush is ensuring to secure his legacy as a failed presidency.
